Back in Empire

Lately we have been back in empire ... after a fast journey (thanks to the invention of jump clones ...) we entered the Placid region.

And what have I to see ?

  • cans
  • more cans
  • even more cans ...

Let me tell you ...

NOBODY in 0.0 would come to the idea of polluting space with cans ...

New feature or What Reboots are for ...

Sometimes downtimes give you the chance to go on a little adventure aside from EVE (yes, ITS possible, and if only on the official EVE site - hehe).

Now theres a nice nifty little graph on EVE-Online:

You can find it on the right bottom corner of the page.

The graph in detail (23:25 EVE time or so):

... and then the server rebooted (had to be ...).

A nice warning - you see the dropping figures and know you have to dock ;)

Simple but effective

Ever noticed it could take quite some time for the map after pressing [F10] to show up ?

Sometimes theres a very easy explanation:
The map remembers its last setting. So if you choose to search for your "Agents in space" the map will do this, repeatly - regardless of your need or not.
A simple trick is to set the tab "Display Settings, subtab "Stars" to "Actual Color" - this is the way fastest to show the map (because no filters have been applied).

Also have in mind for most short range travels you dont need the HyperDuper-Big O Map - the minibrowser you get by pressing [F11] is often enough ;)

Home sweet (old) Home ...

Lately we tend to hand around with some mates in our old home in Grispire ...

Some "new" inhabitants of our old home seem to try to lay some "n00b" traps:

Place some cans ...

Some innocent cans in a belt

and hope the best

believe me - I would NEVER lie ...

Next shot is one of my favorites ...

We got a very - ehh pointy CEO ...

Tess can be picky ...

Stay tuned for the detailed "Grisp Files" following in the near future ...

Offtopic: A life next to EVE ?

Having postcard-weather today I was intrigued to visit our greatest lake here in Carinthia.
The "Wörthersee". After several weeks with -15°C to -20°C (5°F to -4°F) this big lake (an area of 19,5km² respective 7,54 sqaure miles) froze ...

Finding the lake frozen (see some details down below) driving around the lake was a beautiful sensation with the perfect weather.

As you see I was not alone with this idea ...

Even some guys from the local Skaters Club tried to get some fees out of the folks for skating on the (public) lake ... Well, they sure had some work preparing the ice - but me and my GF already preferred skating on the unprepared surface - so why spent 2,5 Euro for driving ?

Fortunatly the lake is big and there where other places on the ice without challenging the "Ice Sheriffs". Near this little mansion we came on the ice and ...

... guess the fun skating all this nearly
alone away from the crowds ...

New feature ...

Bah ... I KNOW when the galaxy shut down ;)

Annoying ... maybe too much complained when their universe shut off ?

Ever wondered ?

How a thing like a Giant Secure Can fits in a haulers cargo (in fact 4 of them fit in my Prowler) after deplyoing it ?

There must be some air pump included to inflate them ...

And there are NO tricks with perspective or so involved - the prowler and the can are next to each other ...

Got a plex ?

Recently me and some mates decided to go for complex to beat boredom in 0.0. After a short refit and bunkering lots of ammo we went for a nearby infestion of "pirates" to show them we dont allow them to live outside the law unharmed.

Being there at the first acceleration gate I unrealised my noobish mistake - taking a 100MN Microwarpdrive with me was no good idea ...
Well, after putting it offline I enjoyed my bigger cap, being able to tank more ;)

Fighting off the guards we quickly proceeded to the second stage.

gate to Stage II

Next Stage we found some (ok, not so perfect - but we got the hint) invitation ...

Main target was a stargate under construction ... Hell, I can tell you this things can take lots of damage before you see a really neat *BOOM* ...
Fortuntaly they dont fly and shoot back.

Our party proceeded (see here me and Giogiogiogia - Don is unfortunatly not depicted) easily and than ...

... the s*** boiled. On the way to the accelaration gate due to an malfunction of my pod communication electronic suddely all my systems went black. Nada, nothing. After rebooting my PODs software and logging in I was alone in the plex. The only thing I got was a:

This gate is locked! The Supply Ship Pass must be retrieved and stored in your cargo hold when you activate it for it to be unlocked. The question that remains is, who (or what) is the gatekeeper ...

Bah, would my POD have booted 30 secs before or after - all would be fine.
After digging around my PODs software pool I found some code ©righted by M$ corparation from .edm.nd (. where it was illegible) as source of the failure ...
Maybe a computer expert could help a poor minmatar out ?
What did I made wrong ?

New Toy - Part 2

"Finally", to say so, I earned the honor to fly the minmatar Tempest. Not to say I dont't dislike my phoon now (my "Longtail" which I originally heritaged from a chap over a year before) is still in perfect condition and I still will try to make it the longest living battleship in EVE ;)

Intrigued by my filled wallet I decided to throw some ISKies in to get some at the market. Impatient to wait for VAF building me one I grabbed one of market at 112,000,000 ISK - well more than if bought from corp, but hey I wanted one. With one of our next freighter runs finally the Tempest arrived down in 0.0.

It was definitly fun and and REALLY GOOD FEELING to fly (finally) this big boat. (Let's not speak about my first encounter with belt rats where I got farely spanked ...).

After this (not mentioned here unhappy incident) and some "setup varities" I come to a setup which fits my minmatar proud:

BIG FAT GUNS (imagine a 850mm shell next to your head)
Some decent tanking
and some real nice warheads

Nowadays I scrap Angel Battleships with my decent well thought minmatar technique:

Fly to 3000m, activate the big 'Os - and three mintues later activate Toy I ...

Isn't it a nice one ?
